WASHINGTON, D.C., January 1, 2021 – Today, the National Inter-Tribal Energy Council (NITEC)
launched as the official trade organization committed to protecting the energy interests of tribal
nations, tribal leaders and their partnerships. Founded by a group of tribal energy business and
development veterans who lead the tribal energy industry today, including Tosidoh, LLC, and SAGE
Development Authority, as well as leading renewable energy companies like Navajo Power, PBC,
NTEC will advocate on behalf of tribal energy businesses and developers.
As energy mega-trends point to economies addressing climate change and industries shifting to
cleaner forms of energy resources, NITEC seeks to provide its members with a network containing the
most up-to-date tribal energy development tools and resources on best practices, development
standards and trends to success within a constantly evolving industry.
“Visionaries like David Conrad, Carina Miller, Sonny Adams and Doug MacCourt co-founded NITEC as
a non-profit, 501(c)(6) organization to promote and protect the energy interests of tribal nations,
tribal leaders and their partnerships.” said fellow founder and current Board Member, Chris
Deschene. “We believe there is a need for a national intertribal energy trade association to advance
the energy policy, funding and business opportunities within Indian Country. We support an ethical
approach to educate and partner with successful energy businesses within the U.S. energy economy.”
NITEC welcomes energy, business, governmental, legal, technical, research and tribal professionals
who are equally committed to protecting and educating the energy industry on the value of tribal
energy development and business partnerships. NITEC membership information can be found online
