A Real Opportunity and a Call to Prepare
More than 300 jobs and 17-25 long-term, high-paying careers are being created through projects like Painted Desert Power.
These are careers that can support families and strengthen our communities for the next 35-40 years, with over $100 million in direct salaries.
But these projects are moving forward now. Without training and preparation, these jobs will be filled by outside workers.
We cannot afford to miss this moment. We must prepare now. This is about more than jobs. It is about building careers, strengthening our economy, and keeping opportunity on our land.
This is about sovereignty because when our people are prepared for these jobs, the economic benefit stays on our land, strengthens our communities, and builds a future we control.

About the
Consortium
Indigenous-led. Community-driven. Built to last.
The Indigenous Renewables Workforce Development Consortium was created to meet a need that’s been voiced for years: real opportunities for Indigenous workers in clean energy—and a way to keep those opportunities in the community.
Too often, clean energy projects happen to tribal communities instead of with them. Jobs come and go. Outside firms take the lead. That cycle ends here.
This initiative brings together tribal nations, training institutions, and employers with a shared purpose: to grow careers, build local expertise, and ensure that the future of energy includes Indigenous leadership at every level.
Founded by Navajo Power, the Consortium reflects a long-term commitment to care, to planning, and to relationships that make lasting progress possible.
Vision
A clean energy future shaped by Indigenous communities—where opportunity is rooted in place, and careers support both economic and cultural strength.
Mission
To connect Indigenous people with renewable energy jobs, training, and mentorship—building local talent pipelines that serve tribal nations, support transition from fossil fuels, and reflect the needs and values of each community we serve.
