  • Navajo Power is a majority Native owned utility-scale renewable energy company that has several megawatts of solar energy under development on the Navajo Nation. Navajo Power works with communities to ensure that economic benefits and real benefits such as off-grid power are optimized and deployed in the community. Navajo Power Home is a new and exciting subsidiary of our business that provides “solar as a service” to residential customers to address the needs of families without electricity through solar and battery storage solutions.

Position Overview

  • We are seeking a driven, self-directed Project Manager for an innovative solar and battery storage project. This position has an initial commitment of 6 months, yet successful performance will lead to advancement with Navajo Power or Navajo Power Home. Qualified candidates will demonstrate leadership that will help us build our business sub-unit and coordinate all the pieces to ensure successful operations, strategy, and customer engagement. The qualified candidate maximizes efficiency in the implementation of detailed project plans, keeping track of goals, tasks, resources, schedules, costs and contingencies. They are responsible for the quality of work, and for keeping projects on time and on budget.


  • Working with communities, families, others to educate on residential solar solutions
  • Engage clients and close deals to provide solar services
  • Structure financing, competitive bids, and schedule workflow
  • Coordinate logistics for operations, supplies, and other business lines
  • Ensure quality craftsmanship and client satisfaction
  • Organize training for team members
  • Recruit talent and contractors
  • Manage sales and technical teams
  • Interface with financing entities
  • Other duties as assigned

Responsibilities and Opportunities for Growth

  • Navajo Power is a small but rapidly growing organization and there will be many opportunities for growth and advancement within the organization for the right candidate.

Location, Time and Travel Requirements

  • The PM-Off Grid must be located in the Western Navajo or Flagstaff, AZ region and be willing to travel frequently throughout the Navajo Nation, as much as 50% of the time. Working with our partner communities sometimes means spending nights and weekends meeting with community stakeholders to accommodate their timeframes, availability and regular community meeting schedules.
